Invest in wellbeing – Tip of the Month

As a business owner, running a business during a pandemic is a challenge that you probably didn’t  expect to face when you first started out. It’s a time filled with worries about the future and at some point or another you will find yourself asking “will my business survive?” or “how long can it survive for?” These are some of the many unanswered questions that can fill you and your employees with feelings of anxiety and dread, which can be hugely distracting from the task at hand.

At a time when you need to be sharp and laser focused, being happy and healthy will certainly help. My tip this month is to invest in the wellbeing of yourself and that for your employees.

The NHS lists 5 steps to mental wellbeing:

1)     Connect with other people
2)     Be physically active
3)     Learn new skills
4)     Give to others
5)     Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness)

Time spent encouraging and facilitating healthy working practices for employees will not be time lost, particularly if your employees are working from home.
